Buying your first bow? - A 4-step guide

If you are reading this, then it's probably time to dive into the exciting journey of getting your own archery gear!

This step marks a significant milestone in your archery journey, but I understand it can feel overwhelming. Rest assured, We are here to provide you with the best guidance and support to make this process as smooth as possible. If you are ordering your equipment through us, expect plenty of back-and-forth and feel free to ask any questions you may have. It's crucial that you fully grasp your choices before making any decisions.

I want to emphasise that while there's no obligation to purchase equipment through us, your support truly matters to us. Our primary goal is to ensure you find the gear that suits you best, regardless of where you choose to buy it. We'll never recommend equipment based on profit margins; our focus is solely on your satisfaction and comfort with your choices.

So, let's outline how we proceed:

Step 1: Identifying the items you need

Building your archery kit involves understanding various components and how they fit together. I've included links below to helpful diagrams and a YouTube series to familiarise yourself with the terminology and equipment.

Additionally, determining your shooting style(s) is crucial as it guides the selection of necessary accessories.

I've prepared an Equipment Spreadsheet categorising items under different shooting styles, indicating whether they're required, recommended, optional, or not permitted.

Step 2: Choosing Brands and Models

The array of brands and models in the archery market can be overwhelming. We've curated a list of tried-and-tested options based on factors like value for money, quality, after-sales service, and performance. Your choice of brand and model will depend on factors such as shooting style, budget, and personal goals in the sport. Here is our most up to date pricelist with the options we usually recommend. However, we can supply any of the items on our supplier site so let us know if something else grabs your attention.

Step 3: Selecting Specifications and Variants

Once you've narrowed down your options, it's time to select specifications such as handedness, colour, and size. Some items require specific variants based on handedness, while others offer personalisation options such as colour. Make choices that align with your preferences and needs. It is also very important to establish what your draw length is to be able to accurately choose the correct bow size and arrow spine. You may need some assistance deciding on the correct specifications for certain items. You can chat to your coach for their recommendations and we are always happy to help.

Step 4: Place your order

Before placing your order, please review the outlined process and terms & conditions to ensure a smooth experience.
