This past weekend a small group of archers from the club (Archers of Zoolake) braved the cold weather and took part in the North Gauteng Field Champs held at Archers Edge in Pretoria.
Matthew Bossenger, Dirk Bruynse and I (Dean) shot both days, while Alistair Gordon shot day 1 and Thomas Endrody joined us for day 2.
Special congratulations to Matthew for shooting a personal best of 320 on the Hunter round on day 1! Just 10 points of the National Colour qualifying score for Adult Male Bowhunter Recurve.
Scores for our gents this weekend were as follows:
AMBH(R)
- Dean - 372 & 371 (743)
- Dirk - 336 & 306 (642)
- Matt - 320 & 288 (602)
AMBB(R)
- Alistair - 301
VMBH(R)
- Thomas - 267
Congrats to the guys who took part this weekend and of course a massive thank you to Archers Edge and the other organizers for hosting and organizing a very successful and enjoyable shoot.
Field Archery is very challenging but is also a huge amount of fun! If anyone is interested in joining us at one of these events, please let us know! We really want to grow the numbers of recurve archers at these events. Archers can opt to shoot at the shorter distances to start with and slowly develop towards the full distances.
