Our Essential Intent at Sentient Archery is “To Grow and Empower a Recreational, Modern Recurve, Target Archery Community in South Africa”. There are many factors involved in working towards this goal, but arguably the most important is knowledge transfer.
I have had the luxury of 20 years of experience in and around the sport, as an archer, a coach, a business owner, and a volunteer. This means I have gained an enormous amount of knowledge and understanding. This is ultimately what we have built Sentient Archery around, we teach people about the sport and our other offerings hinge around that.
In order for me to scale and grow our community, my teaching cannot be limited to face-to-face interaction. This is why I originally created the blog and later the youtube channel. However, I have been inconsistent at best and over the years very little content has made its way to our community. I really am determined to create a truly helpful online resource. Video format seems to be the easiest for me and it suits the nature of archery and teaching in general. So, this year I am committing to creating and releasing at least one video lesson per week.
I have chosen to start by creating a series of videos focused around equipment, a ‘Guide to Modern Recurve Archery Equipment’ if you will.
Check out the Intro to the Video Series (below) where I go into a little more detail about the challenges of creating an online resource and my overall plan for the weekly video lessons.
Please subscribe to the Youtube Channel, Like the video and if you feel inclined, please share it with someone you think might benefit from it.
